Inacio Alvares
Brush Work Artist
Hi, I am Inacio Alvares (CFA) an artist born in1973 in Nuvem, South Goa, India. I am from a family of five siblings, who all have their own artistic traits and a mother that is a good handcrafter and a great inspiration to me.
I have been painting for approximately twenty two years since leaving school, the Holy Rosary Convent School, in Nuvem, Goa. Even at school at my young age my teachers saw the potential that I had in my hands and encouraged me to paint and gain as much experience as I could at my young age.
In 1996 I joined a private art institute on a five year art course, this was at the Milus Institute of Fine Art in Margoa, Goa. This course brought out more of the hidden talents that I had within me. After leaving the institute I taught art at a high school called Fatima’s Convent High School in Margoa, Goa, along with this I did freelance work for customers around Goa.
In 2004 I went to work in Kuwait, working in arabic homes doing paintings, murals and portraits. This was the best experience I could ever have had, because I had to deliver the very best work I could for the arabic customers, because they won’t accept anything less than the best. The murals and trompe l’oeil that was included in this work were very large ones on walls and ceilings and this experience helped me later on work in Goa when I returned.
I did return to my home country of India in 2006 and although I had the opportunity and was wanted back in Kuwait and the call was very strong, I decided to stay in Goa to establish myself and hopefully get the recognition as an artist here.
I continued as a freelance artist and in between this work I started to do paintings for my first exhibition which I held at Kala Academy, Panjim, Goa in 2009. It was a mixed theme and mixed mediums and was quite a good success for an artist’s first exhibition, with many visitors and good reviews from local press and local TV stations. After the exhibition I continued freelancing and then arranged my second exhibition in 2014, it was held at E.S.G. Art Gallery, Panjim, Goa. It was a single theme with the title “Goa from Yesterday”and the paintings were showing life, culture and history of Goa from past. Again this exhibition attracted a good response from both visitors, customers and press.
Since my return to Goa in 2006 and with the help and recognition from the exhibitions, I have done murals and paintings in many Churches, Chapels, Goan homes and exhibited some of my work at other joint exhibitions and painted for customers from India, UK, Sweden, Canada,
I have great experience and enjoy so much painting realistic paintings, Portraits and all sizes of Mural and Trompe L’oeil on both walls and ceilings.
